To allow a pointer moving operation and press button pressing operation to be automatically and continuously performed like a mouse by using an operation part with press button switches having a same feature as click buttons of the mouse to manipulate a stick of a pointing stick in conjunction therewith while a pointing device is in the shape of integrated structure that can be incorporated into a computer.

The pointing device is provided at the top end of the stick 11 of the pointing stick with an operating part 5 capable of smoothly moving all around on an operation side 4 and manipulating the coupled stick in conjunction therewith. The operation part 5 is provided in the center of its upper surface with a recess 6 for putting a fingertip therein for moving operation, with two press buttons respectively placed on the right and left of the recess. By putting a middle finger in the recess 6 to perform operation for manipulating the operation part 5, a hand and finger posture is stabilized, and a forefinger and a third finger are automatically placed in the respective positions for pressing the right and left press buttons 7, 8. Further, a feature expansion switch 9 for expanding a feature is provided at the bottom of the recess 6 for putting the fingertip therein.
