Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the machining characteristic such as a uniaxial orienting property, water resistance, heat resistance, and wet heat resistance and reduce the deterioration in the optical characteristic by water and heat by using a uniaxial oriented film made of a polyvinyl alcohol polymer having a specific isotacticity content as a base material.
SOLUTION: A uniaxial oriented film made of a polyvinyl alcohol polymer having the isotacticity content of 72% or above by the triad display is used as a base material. The isotacticity content is preferably set to 75% or above, more preferably to 78% or above. A single polymer or a copolymer of vinyl ester such as vinyl acetate or vinyl ether such as t-butylvinyl ether is saponified or decomposed to obtain the polyvinyl alcohol polymer. The limiting viscosity at 30°C in the acetone of the polyvinyl acetate obtained when the polyvinyl alcohol polymer is complexed is preferably set to 0.7 dl/g or above.
