To provide a polarizing plate, wherein a protective film is transparent and birefringence is not easily changed even if stress is applied.

The polarizing plate has a structure in which at least one side of a polarizer is protected by a protective film comprising a resin. The resin is a cured product of an active energy ray curable resin composition containing a cellulose derivative of which a part of hydroxyl groups of a glucose skeleton are substituted with a group comprising an acyl group of an unsaturated carboxylic acid. The group represented by formula (1) is included as the group comprising an acyl group of an unsaturated carboxylic acid, wherein R1 is a hydrogen atom or a 1-4C alkyl group, A1 and A2 are the same or different and are bivalent organic groups, X1 and X2 are the same or different and each is an oxygen atom, a sulfur atom or an -NR2- group, R2 is a hydrogen atom or a 1-6C alkyl group, and n is 0 or 1.
