Abstract:
To provide: a polyester fiber having a fine fineness which can suppress glare when the polyester fiber having a fine fineness is formed into a woven or knitted fabric, and has both of a natural glossy feeling and a soft touch feeling even in the fiber having a fine fineness; and a manufacturing method thereof.SOLUTION: A polyester fiber has a single fiber fineness from 0.20 dtex or more to 0.80 dtex or less, and contains 0.10 mass% or more to 0.50 mass% or less of inorganic particles having an average particle size ranging from 0.60 μm or more to 1.00 μm or less. The polyester fiber has a flatness of 3 or more to 10 or less in a cross section, and has 5×103 pieces/mm2 or more to 5.0×105 pieces/mm2 or less of recesses ranging from 0.05 μm2 or more to 0.20 μm2 or less in size on the fiber surface.SELECTED DRAWING: None
