To obtain a film which has not only superior productivity and optical characteristics, but also adhesive strength as a base film for light diffusion plate.
A compound film is provided which has as its base material layer a two-axially aligned polyester film made of polyehtylene terephthalate, at least one surface of the base material layer being coated with an easily adhesive coating. Optical characteristics as the compound film are such that a b* value of a L*a*b* coloration system is -1 to 1, a haze value is ≤2 %, and total light beam transmissivity is ≥88 %. The compound film is 20 to 250 μm. The easily adhesive coating consists of a copolymerizable polyester resin of 40 to 80°C in glass transition point temperature, particulates of 20 to 150 nm in mean grain size, and an acrylic resin and/or an acryl-urethane copolymer. Thus, provided is the polyester film which is highly transparent, colorless, superior in adhesive resin to the acrylic resin at least on one surface, and suitable as a substrate for liquid crystal display device light diffusion plate.
