To provide an overhead cable capable of reducing a wind pressure load not only during a time of strong wind but also under the condition that a strong wind and heavy rain exist simultaneously, and reducing wind noise during a medium wind velocity.
The overhead cable composed of bare twisted wires has a cross-sectional form of a regular polygon inscribed in a circle with a diameter of 18.2 to 38.4 mm as a basic form, wherein tabular projections 6 are formed on two sides located at the farthest positions of this basic regular polygon form. The number of angles for the regular polygon is 16 for a diameter of 18.2 mm, 17 for a diameter of 22 mm, 20 for a diameter of 24.4 mm, 20 or 21 for a diameter of 27.4 mm, 22 for a diameter of 32.6 mm, 22 for a diameter of 38.4 mm, and the height of the tabular projection 6 is not lower than 0.3 mm and not higher than 0.75 mm.
