Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composite membrane, keeping gas blocking tendency without impairing proton conductivity and also having improved tenacity compared to a membrane composed only of a sulfonated polyarylene.
SOLUTION: This polymer composition comprises mainly (A) a tetrafluoroethylene copolymer having proton conductivity, (B) a sulfonated polyarylene and (C) an organic solvent, and the composite membrane is obtained by casting and drying the polymer composition.
