Title:
POLYMERIC MATERIAL HAVING DECREASED SURFACE ENERGY AND PROCESS FOR MOLDING SAME
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH07242774
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain polymeric moldings with a decreased surface energy by intimately mixing a specific surface modifying material with a polyolefin or a polyester at a specific ratio and molding the resulting mixture to a desired shape or structure.

CONSTITUTION: By closely mixing about 99.5-95.0% polymer selected from the group consisting of polyolefins and polyesters with about 0.5-5% surface modifying agent having a structure of formula I [wherein R1 and R2 are each selected from the group consisting of aliphatic, aliphatic/aromatic alcohols, monobasic acid alkyls or aryls with a molecular weight of about 250-600 daltons, etc.; A is O, a group of formula II or a group of formula III; R2, R3, R6 and R' are each CH3, C2H5, C3H7 or C4H9; R4 and R5 are each CH3, C2H5, C3H7 or a group of formula IV (wherein i is 0-3; and j is 1-3); and n is 7-70] and molding the resulting compound of this polymer and the surface modifying agent to a desired shape or structure, polymer moldings having a decreased surface energy can be obtained.
