PURPOSE: The titled composition that is made by impregnating porous particles of polyvinyl chloride with an alkyl vinyl ether having an alkyl group of specific carbon number and methacrylic alkyl ester, followed by polymerization, thus showing good flowing properties, high impact strength, heat stability and heat resistance.
CONSTITUTION: Porous particles of polyvinyl chloride, preferably made by suspension or bulk polymerization of vinyl chloride only or a mixture thereof with other monomers, (100pts.wt.) are impregnated with 2W20pts. of (A) monomer or polymer of an alkyl vinyl ether with 4W18C alkyl group and/or a fatty acid vinyl ester and (B) a methacrylic alkyl ester with 1W4C alkyl group monomer or polymer and/or an A-B copolymer where the weight ratio of A/B is 90/10W60/40 and a polymerization initiator and the two-stage polymerization is effected where B is added, when the conversion of A reaches 50W90%, to give the objective compsition. The resultant composition (100pts.wt.) is combined with an inorganic filler such as barium carbonate (2W100pts.), when necessary, other additives and processed.
