PURPOSE: To prepare instant green tea easily soluble in water of warm water, having improved taste, fragrance, and color, by fluidizing fine powder of tea leaves or a mixture of the fine powder of tea leaves, an extender, etc. in a container, spraying an extracted solution of tea leaves, etc. upon it, agglomerating and granulating it.

CONSTITUTION: The mixture 2 consisting of fine powder of tea leaves, an extender made of saccharide, and other powder additive is put in the container 2, the dry hot air 3 at 60W80°C is sent from the bottom to it, the powder is fluidized and blended. The material 4 obtained by adding a proper amount of a binder to an extracted solution obtained by dissolving soluble components of tea leaves and extracting them or to a concentrated solution thereof together with the compressed air 5 is sprayed from the nozzole 6 upon the mixture continuously for 1W1.5hr, so that the powder is agglomerated and granulated. After this treatment, the granules are dried for 1.5W2hr, to give porous instant green tea.
