Abstract:

To provide porous metal with a water-retaining function and a method of manufacturing the porous metal, as well as a water-retaining member using the porous metal.

Of the porous metal 10 with a skeleton structure having skeleton parts 11 and hole parts 16, an arithmetic average roughness Ra of the surface of the skeleton parts 11 is set within the range of 0.7 μm to 2.5 μm, and an average hole diameter of the hole part 16 surrounded by the skeleton parts 11, within the range of 30 μm to 600 μm.
