To provide a portable adipometer that can be handily taken out if necessary to measure body fat, without being bulky when carried in a clothes pocket or a bag.

This portable adipometer is provided with a body 1 of rectangular plate shape with the long side set within a range of 100 to 75 mm and the short side set to 0.45 to 0.86 times as long as the long side and with a thickness set to 0.02 to 0.08 times the length of the long side; a pair of measuring electrodes 4L, 4R provided on both faces extended along the short sides of the body 1, and holdable with the thumbs and forefingers of both hands; an impedance measuring means 5 built in the body 1 to measure the intracorporeal impedance of a subject on the basis of signals acquired from the measuring electrodes 4L, 4R; a control means 8 built in the body 1 and capable of computing the percentage of body fat percentage and the amount of body fat from the intracorporeal impedance acquired by the impedance measuring means 5 and the height, weight and sex of the subject inputted from a manual input means; a display means 6 attached in a built-in state to the body 1 and capable of displaying the percentage of body fat and the amount of body fat; and a battery 9 built in the body 1 to serve as a power supply for the control means 8 and display means 6.
