PURPOSE: To obtain the portable storing medium of large storing capacity by providing an IC memory, control circuit and connector with an electric circuit in a disk drive on a printed circuit board of which width and length are almost same as a floppy disk.

CONSTITUTION: For the portable storing medium, plural IC memory chips 5 are mounted on a thin printed circuit board 3 and the storing medium is covered with a thin and soft sheet 15 and protected from the read / write head of the floppy disk drive. Connectors 7 and 9 are arranged in one end of the substrate 3 with being spaced and a knob 13 is provided in the other end. Then, the storing medium can be easily attached and detached to the floppy disk drive. The knob 13 is made longer than the normal floppy disk and always protruded from the drive when the storing medium is mounted. A button battery 11 is provided near the knob 13 and power is supplied to the respective IC memory chips 5 and the memory is made non-volatile. By such a floppy disk type IC card, the portable storing medium, which is operated faster than the floppy disk, of the large storing capacity can be obtained.
