Abstract:
PURPOSE:To detect the absolute position of a mobile mechanism with a comparatively simple device constitution and in a small working range by providing a code train in the working direction of a mobile machine and attaching a code detecting sensor to a movable part of the mobile machine. CONSTITUTION:A code train 6 is provided in the working direction of a mobile machine, and a code detection sensor 5 is attached to a movable part 4 of the mobile machine. A drive part 1 is driven by a prescribed extent, and the count value of a counter is stored when the code detected by the sensor 5 varies. Then the absolute position of the mobile machine is decided based on the count value of the counter which is working by a prescribed extent. Thus no synchronization is required between the reading operation of the train 6 and the working of the part 1 owing to a fact that the value of the counter is stored when the code detected by the sensor 5 varies. In such a way, the absolute position of the mobile machine is obtained with a simple device constitution.
