Abstract:

To more properly detect stitching failure in a sheet bundle folded along stitched parts with stitching staples.

A post-processing device includes: a compile tray 31 where a plurality of sheets are bound to form the sheet bundle; a stapler 80 making a staple needle penetrate the sheet bundle formed by the compile tray 31 and bending the end of the staple needle to stitch the sheet bundle; a bending mechanism 35 bending the stitched parts with the staple needle in the sheet bundle; and a first needle detection sensor 921 disposed in the downstream side in a sheet bundle conveyance direction from the stapler 80, and in the upstream side in the sheet bundle conveyance direction from the bending mechanism 35 so as to detect the staple needle used for the sheet bundle by the stapler 80.
