To prevent heat from radiating from a peripheral wall of a pot by adding a thermal insulation function to the pot itself and improve the thermal insulation efficiency of an electric rice cooker, by providing a vacuum layer with a required vertical width over the entire circumference of a peripheral wall portion on a rice cooker pot defining the peripheral wall portion standing upward from the circumference of the bottom.
In a pot body 1 of a pot for an electric rice cooker, a peripheral wall 5 portion standing upward from the bottom 4 defines a bent surface 6, the peripheral wall 5 portion above the bent surface 6 is formed in a straight shape, and an upper edge portion 7 of the peripheral wall 5 is bent outward. An outer peripheral wall 2 is placed a constant distance spaced from the outer peripheral surface of the straight portion of the peripheral wall 5, the lower side of this outer peripheral wall 2 is welded with the top portion of the bent surface 6, and the upper side is welded with the upper edge portion 7 to air-tightly seal the clearance portion. By providing an exhaust portion 9 for a portion close to the upper edge portion 7 of the outer peripheral wall 2, and sucking vacuum from this exhaust portion 9, a vacuum layer 10 is formed in the clearance portion. After that, one knob 3 is mounted to the upper edge portion 7 just over the exhaust portion 9.
