Title:
PRODUCTION OF LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3198504
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a liquid crystal display device having no irregular alignment due to contaminants by cleaning the surface of an alignment film first by a nozzle shower so as to remove adsorption activity of the alignment film in the cleaning process after the alignment film is applied on a substrate and rubbed, and then cleaning the region where the substrate is exposed.
SOLUTION: The substrate 101 after rubbing treatment is sent to a rubbing cleaning process. Pure water from a nozzle shower 108 is poured onto the center of the alignment film 107 printed on the substrate 101. Then the pure water spreads from the center to the peripheral region to clean the exposed part 201 of the substrate and then drops from the substrate end face to outside of the substrate. Therefore, the adsorption activity of the alignment film surface after rubbed is first removed and then the contaminants adsorbed on the exposed part 201 of the substrate in the peripheral region are washed off, so that even when contaminants flow onto the alignment film, contaminants are not adsorbed by the film and that an irregular alignment due to contaminants is not caused.
