Abstract:
PURPOSE: To prevent the flow-out of molten metal from a pouring nozzle and to stabilize the casting, in a grid body continuous casting machine for lead battery.
CONSTITUTION: In order to prevent the flow-out of the molten metal supplied from the pouring nozzle 13 from the reverse direction to the rotating direction (shown in arrow mark) of a drum 2, a cooling plate 4 is fitted as a cooling mechanism fitted outside the nozzle body 13'. The cooling plate 4 and the nozzle body 13' come partial contact with each other, and by providing gaps between the both, heat insulation is attained. The cooling plate 4 has comb-teeth like projections 5 fitted to carving parts 3 at the part faced to the circumferential surface of the drum 2 and further, provides a guide pipe 6 for circulating cooling medium. The comb-teeth like projections 6 prevent the flow-out of the molten metal by dumming up and solidifying the flowing out molten metal.
