Abstract:
PURPOSE: To produce the title composition which can give a coating film improved in surface smoothness, weatherability and mechanical properties by mixing a polyol with a specified linear crystalline polyuretidinedione.
CONSTITUTION: A polyisocyanate composition comprising hexamethylene diisocyanate having a uretidinedione ring and a triazine ring is reacted with a diol or with a diol and a compound having one active hydrogen atom to obtain a linear crystalline polyuretidienedione having a latent NCO content of 12-21wt.%, a weight-average molecular weight of 2000-20000 and a melting point of 60-140°C, not blocking at 40°C or below and represented by formula I X is a group of formula II or III or -NCO; 1 is a residue derived by removing the active hydrogen atom from a compound having one active hydrogen atom; and n is 1 or greater). 2-50 pts.wt. this polyuretidiendione is mixed with 100 pts.wt. at least one polyol selected from among a polyester polyol, an acrylpolyol and a fluoropolyol each of which has a hydroxyl value of 20-300 mgKOH/g and is solid at room temperature.
