Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a powder treatment device and a powder treatment method, capable of efficiently enhancing the weatherability of powders by superheated steam containing a hydroxy radical at high density.SOLUTION: A powder treatment device comprises: an induction heating apparatus 4 generating a superheated steam by induction-heating a saturated steam; a treatment chamber 5 in which the superheated steam generated by the apparatus 4 is introduced; and a discharge treatment apparatus 6 disposed in the treatment chamber 5 and performing a discharge treatment to the introduced superheated steam. The discharge treatment apparatus 6 includes: a frame functioning as a support of the discharge treatment apparatus; a discharge electrode which is disposed at the upper part of the frame, and is formed by covering a periphery of a central conductor with an insulator; a mesh-like counter electrode disposed below the discharge electrode; and a high frequency power source generating a barrier discharge by supplying a high-frequency high-voltage electric power between the discharge and the counter electrodes. Weatherability of the powder positioning beneath the counter electrode is enhanced by the superheated steam in which a concentration of the hydroxy radical heightens by the barrier discharge.
