To provide a power amplifier effectively canceling a distortion caused in a main amplifier without the need for attaching a specific circuit like a pre-distortion circuit to the main amplifier and not deteriorating a linear distortion characteristic even when ON / OFF of power supply to the amplifier is repeated.
In the power amplifier provided with at least two amplifier stages: a final amplifier stage M3 to which a first power supply Vd3 is supplied, and a pre-amplifier stage M1 to which a second power supply Vd1 is supplied, for canceling distortion caused in the final amplifier stage M3 and distortion caused in the pre-amplifier stage M1 with each other, and repetitively employing ON / OFF of the first and second power supplies, a response characteristic of the first power supply with respect to the final amplifier stage M3 is set so as to be faster than a response characteristic of the second power supply with respect to the pre-amplifier stage M1.
