Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a branching connector which requires a fewer number of parts and is safe, even if it is used outdoors.
SOLUTION: This power cable branching connector comprises an upper cover 1, a lower cover 2, and a bolt and nut 5 inserted into a through-hole which penetrates the central part of the upper and lower covers 1, 2 respectively. U-shaped branching terminals 9a, 9b, having a covering layer composed of a buffering material 8, are vertically opposed to each other and placed in the terminal housing grooves 7, 7 formed in the upper and lower covers 1, 2, and the tips of the U-shaped branching terminals 9 are cut-through edges 10 with the sharply saw-toothed tips. A vertical supporting pillar 20a composed of a buffering material 8 is formed in the intermediate portion between the cut- through edges 10 of the U-shaped branching terminal 9a on either cover, and a horizontal supporting pillar 21b is formed in the intermediate portion between the cut-through edges 10 of the U-shaped branching terminal 9b. The vertical and horizontal supporting pillars 20a, 21b are superposed in cross shape to ensure spacing between the upper and lower covers 1, 2.
