PURPOSE: To prevent an electric shaver from burning out even when an alternating current voltage is continuously applied to the shaver by mistake.
CONSTITUTION: A direct current voltage output from a primary rectifier circuit 52 is applied to a primary winding of a transformer 54. A driving circuit 56 turns on and off the primary winding continually. A secondary rectifier circuit 58 is connected to a secondary winding of the transformer 54 and rectifies the alternating current voltage induced at the secondary winding. A battery 60 is connected to the secondary rectifier circuit 58 and charged by direct current voltage output from the secondary rectifier circuit 58. A switch 62, which turns on and off the direct current voltage supply to a shaving blade driving motor 64, is situated between the battery 60 and the driving motor 64. A drive stopping circuit 12 detects the voltage values output from the battery 60 or the secondary rectifier circuit 58 and stops the switching actions of the driving circuit 56 when the voltage value detected drops below a specified voltage value.
