To increase the choice of operating modes that an air conditioner will execute during a period in which a user is absent.SOLUTION: A power consumption estimation device (10) estimates a power consumption of an air conditioner (30). When a power consumption estimation unit (24) of the power consumption estimation device (10) causes the air conditioner (30) to execute an absent operation mode at a scheduled absence time, the power consumption estimation unit estimates, for each of the plurality of absent operation modes, a power consumption of the air conditioner (30) in a period from when the air conditioner (30) starts executing the absent operation mode until the temperature of a target space (50) reaches a predetermined first temperature after the lapse of the scheduled absence time.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
