Abstract:
To provide a power conversion apparatus for a railway vehicle, by which the temperature rise in the power conversion apparatus can be suppressed.
The power conversion apparatus for a railway vehicle is arranged under the floor of the vehicle, and provided with a cooler for cooling a semiconductor element. The conversion apparatus comprises a meandering capillary heat pipe, connected to the ceiling plate of the power conversion apparatus and having a plurality of projections, a cooling medium sealed in the heat pipe, and a heat radiation fin connected to the end of the heat pipe. The heat radiation fin cools the inside of the power conversion apparatus via the heat pipe and the cooling medium.
