Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power conversion system which restrains the generation of DC component of series capacitors and can ensure the margin angle of commutation in all valves.
SOLUTION: AC terminals of a thyristor converter 3 which operates, in accordance with an ignition angle command and converts DC into three-phase AC or converts three-phase AC into DC are connected with an AC power source 7 through series capacitors Cu, Cv, Cw. DC components of the capacitor voltages of the respective phases which are measured with voltage detectors 91-93 are detected with a DC component detecting circuit 14. An ignition angle correcting circuit 13 which corrects the ignition angle command of the thyristor convertor 3, in accordance with the detected DC components is added to a control circuit. A phase control circuit 11 for controlling the ignition angle of each phase of the convertor 3 decreases the flow width of a phase of large capacitor voltage and increases the flow width of a phase of small capacitor voltage. Thereby the DC component of capacitor voltage is reduced, and the unbalance in the commutation voltage of each phase is reduced.
