To suppress a fluctuation in an input current command by reducing the influence of a peak fluctuation in a voltage ripple of a smoothing capacitor caused by an on/off operation of a short-circuiting switch.
This power conversion equipment includes: an inverter circuit 100 having semiconductor switch elements 5, 6 and a direct current voltage source 8; a smoothing capacitor 11 connected through a rectifier diode 10 at the subsequent stage thereof; a short-circuiting switch 9 for bypassing the smoothing capacitor 11; and a digital filter 18 for eliminating a high frequency component that occurs in voltage of the smoothing capacitor 11. The short-circuiting switch 9 is subjected to on/off control such that voltage of the direct current voltage source 8 of the inverter circuit 100 follows a first target voltage, and the inverter circuit 100 is controlled by a driving signal 16 being an input current command such that the voltage of the smoothing capacitor 11 whose high frequency component is eliminated by the digital filter 18 follows a second target voltage in order to improve an input power factor from an AC power 1.
