Abstract:
The invention relates to a power supply system for a motor vehicle with internal-combustion engine, in which the vehicle engine is assigned a free-piston Stirling engine with linear generator, the Stirling engine being heated by the exhaust gases of the engine and/or a fuel burner and being cooled via a cooling arrangement of coolant water of the engine or its air cooler, and the electrical energy produced by the linear generator being fed directly in rectified form to the battery and/or to the electric system in order to ensure power generation which is virtually unlimited in power and distribution.
