Abstract:
PURPOSE:To improve power generation efficiency by a method wherein a hydrogen occluding alloy type condensor, a hydrogen gas expansion turbine and a hydrogen occluding alloy type heat exchanger are combined organically with a steam turbine plant to recover condensed latent heat which is used to be discarded in the condenser and utilize it for power generation. CONSTITUTION:Exhaust gas (saturated steam or moist steam) which has existed from a steam turbine 3 driven by steam generated by a boiler 1 is introduced to a radiator 11 of a hydrogen occluding alloy type condenser 9 to heat hydrogen occluding alloy to generate high pressure hydrogen gas while the exhaust gas itself is condensed to become saturated water. Condensed water is fed to a condensed water tank 10, and after raising pressure with a feed water pump 6 it is supplied to a boiler 1 via a feed water heater 7. Hydrogen gas generated in the condenser 9 is supplied to a hydrogen gas expansion turbine 13 to drive it, and exhaust gas which has finished its work is fed to a hydrogen occluding alloy type heat exchanger 14 to have its heat exchanged by cooling water in a cooling water pipe 16 so that hydrogen is occluded in hydrogen occluding alloy.
