Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power generation system which has a power generation device to generate electricity by using movement of water such as a tidal current and can curb both attachment of underwater life to the power generation device and reduction in an operation rate thereof.SOLUTION: A power generation system comprises: a power generation device 1 which is arranged underwater and generates electricity by using movement of water; a floating structure 4 on which the power generation device is installed; and a light shielding body 2 which is arranged above the power generation device and shields a portion of wavelength bands of sunlight reaching the power generation device. The wavelength bands that the light shielding body shields include the same necessary for underwater life to grow.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
