Abstract:
PURPOSE:To equalize the right and left steering torques and to obtain steering torque corresponding to sailing conditions by transmitting the rotary force of a motor to be driven corresponding to steering operation and controlling the current command value of the motor corresponding to the value of table for cancelling the gyro effect and a value detected through a rotation sensor. CONSTITUTION:When a steering wheel is steered, an electric motor (m) is driven to assist the steering power. Motor current command value is controlled corresponding to a table value for cancelling the gyro effect and a value detected through a rotation sensor 58 by means of a controller (c). Since the current value of the motor (m) is approximately proportional to the output torque of the motor (m), the steering force can be controlled. Since the right and left steering torques are equalized and the output torque of the motor (m) depends on the engine rotation, steering force corresponding to sailing conditions can be obtained even upon occurrence of gyro effect.
