PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power supply device capable of driving the existing cordless power tool for a long period of time even in a place where an AC power supply is not installed.SOLUTION: In order to supply electric power to a power tool 20 incorporating a motor 7 therein, a power supply device 10 includes: a secondary battery 1; an output current detection circuit 3 for detecting a current flowing through the motor 7; a microcomputer 5 for integrating the detected current; an output voltage control circuit 4 which decreases the voltage to be supplied to the motor 7 stepwise or continuously as the current flowing through the motor increases; and a thermistor 2c which detects at least the temperature of one of a device-side plus terminal 2a and a device-side minus terminal 2b. A microcomputer 5 is controlled so that the current supplied to the power tool 20 is decreased when an integrated current value exceeds a prescribed value, and also controlled so that the supply of power to the power tool 20 is cut off when the temperature detected by the thermistor 2c exceeds the prescribed value.
