To secure a sufficient air quantity of a cooling fan used for cooling a control element of a motor in a power tool formed with a thin external shape in the vicinity of a connecting part of a gear cover and a housing.
This power tool (1) includes a motor 6 having a rotary shaft 10, housings (2, 32) for storing the motor 6, and a power transmission mechanism for transmitting power from the rotary shaft 10 to a spindle 11 for rotating a tip tool. Each of the housings includes a motor housing 2 for storing the motor and a tail cover 32 connected to a rear side of the motor housing and formed to be thicker than that of the motor housing. The cooling fan 4 is located in the tail cover 32 and mounted to the rotary shaft 10 at an opposite side of the tip tool side of the motor 6.
