Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power transmission device capable of shortening a process concerning the installation of an additional mechanism for switching between plural modes.SOLUTION: A power transmission device comprises: an engine; a first rotary machine: a second rotary machine arranged on a different shaft from the engine; a brake mechanism 40; a first differential mechanism; a second differential mechanism 20 having a first rotation element 21 connected with the first rotary machine, a second rotation element 24 regulated in rotation by the brake mechanism, and a third rotation element 23 connected with the engine; and a case 4 housing the second differential mechanism. The second differential mechanism is arranged on an opposite side to the first differential mechanism across the first rotary machine in the axial direction. The brake mechanism regulates rotation of the second rotation element to bring an overdrive state in which rotation of the engine is increased in speed and is outputted from a ring gear of the first differential mechanism. The brake mechanism is arranged in the case.
