PURPOSE: To reduce the fuel consumption rate and increase the output by transmitting the power recovered by an exhaust heat recovering turbine to the input shaft of a power transmitting device transmitting the output of an engine main body to a propeller.
CONSTITUTION: The power generated by an engine main body 1 for a ship is transmitted to the input shaft 6 of a power transmitting device A from a crank shaft 2 via a flywheel 3, a rubber block 4 and a spider 5, it is positively or reversely rotated and decelerated in the power transmitting device A and transmitted to a propeller from an output shaft 10, and an exhaust recovering turbine 15 is installed at the upper section of a gear case 8. The exhaust recovering turbine 15 is rotated by the exhaust gas of the engine main body 1 flowing from a pipe 16. The rotation of the rotary shaft 15a of this turbine 15 is transmitted to the input shaft 6 via a gear 18, a reduction gear train 20 and a drive gear 19.
