Abstract:

To reduce torsional vibration of a vehicle body without any great increase in weight.

In an open car type automobile, in which the upper side of a body is opened, rear wheels 2 work as driving wheels. A power unit 6 constructed of an engine 7 and a transmission 8 and arranged in the vehicle body front part is supported by means of a front cross member 5 via a pair of left and right elastic mounts 9. In the vehicle body rear part, a rear differential case 12 is supported by the rear cross member 11 via a pair of left and right elastic mounts 13. The transmission 8 and the rear differential case 12 (a gear inside the case 12) are connected together by means of a propeller shaft 15, and at the same time, they are firmly connected together via a connecting frame 16. The elastic mounts 13 are designed to be hard while the elastic mounts 9 are designed to be soft, and the power unit 6 functions as a mass body for a dynamic damper oscillated in the vertical direction while using the vicinity of the rear differential case 12 as an oscillation axis, so that vehicle body torsional vibration is reduced at 15-20 Hz.
