Abstract:
To provide a prechamber type internal combustion engine in which swirling flow is formed in a prechamber and furthermore air-fuel mixture is easily ignited.SOLUTION: A prechamber type internal combustion engine 1 comprises: a main combustion chamber 4; a prechamber 6; a first communication passage 8; and a second communication passage 9. The main combustion chamber 4 is surrounded by a cylinder head 101, a cylinder 102, and a piston 103. The prechamber 6 protrudes from the cylinder head 101 toward the main combustion chamber 4 and is provided to be separated from the main combustion chamber 4 via a prechamber wall 61. The first communication passage 8 is disposed in the prechamber wall 61 and makes the main combustion chamber 4 and the prechamber 6 communicate with each other. The first communication passage 8 is disposed obliquely toward the first direction F with respect to the diameter direction P of the prechamber 6. The second communication passage 9 is disposed at a different position of the prechamber wall 61 from the first communication passage 8 in the protruding direction. The second communication passage 9 is disposed obliquely toward the second direction U opposite to the first direction F with respect to the diameter direction P.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
