Abstract:
PURPOSE: To make it possible to generate a prediction model which determines a charging voltage needed to generate a target surface voltage potential at a selected point on an image formation surface by using surface potential voltage information.
CONSTITUTION: An electric charge controller is incorporated in an electrophotographic printer, which measures a 1st and a 2nd surface voltage potential on the image formation surface, determines a dark attenuation rate model representing a surface voltage potential varying on the image formation surface with time, and utilizes the dark attenuation rate model to determine a surface potential voltage at the point on the image formation surface corresponding to some electric charging voltage.
