To control the temperature of a heating element in an imaging device by selecting delta temperature when desired temperature is set and a timing signal is received and adjusting the temperature of the heating element to the desired temperature corrected.
The input of the desired temperature to an adaptive system 300 is corrected by predicting next heat load. The heat load is compensated by the system 300, so that the temperature of the fusing device is stabilized at the desired temperature. When some time elapses after a medium enters a fusing system, the system 300 increases power amount supplied to the fusing system in response to the drop of the fusing temperature. Finally, the power amount supplied to the fusing system is stabilized at a new power level by the system 300. In such a case, a switch 402 is designated that the desired temperature must be corrected for specified time before the medium enters the fusing system according to a paper path timing signal.
