To produce a foaming material comprising an aromatic polyester and a polyester blend, foamable by a stable foaming process and containing fine and uniform closed cells.
A chain-extending concentrate is used in production of the foaming material comprising the aromatic polyester and the polyester blend. The chain-extending concentrate comprises an ethylene-acrylate copolymer, a high-temperature thermoplastic resin and a multifunctional compound. The preparation process consists of two steps; (1) mixing and melt blending of the multifunctional compound and the HT thermoplastic resin into a matrix of the ethylene-acrylate copolymer in a closed-type mixer and (2) extrusion of the mixture at a temperature below the melting point or reaction temperature of the multifunctional compound.
