PURPOSE: To prepare a coffee-like drink absolutely free from simulants such as caffeine, etc., habit-forming tendency nor the trouble of stomach damage, by separately extracting roast barley, unpolished rice and soybean with hot water, mixing the extracts with each other, and adding a bittering agent and an acidulant to the mixture.

CONSTITUTION: Barley, unpolished rice and soybean are separately roasted, roughtly crushed, and extracted with hot water. 40W80% (solid basis) concentrated extract of barley is mixed with 20W40% concentrated extract of unpolished rice and 10W30% concentrated extract of soybean, and the mixture is added with 0.2W2% bittering agent and 0.1W1.5% acidulant to obtain the objective drink. The product may be dried and pulverized to obtain coffee-like powder.
