CONSTITUTION: This method for preparing the object compound of formula II comprises bringing a compound of formula I [R is H, a lower alkyl, a lower alkoxy, trifluoromethyl; R1 is H, a lower alkyl; R2 is a lower alkyl; R3 is H, a lower alkyl, a lower alkoxy, trifluoromethyl; (m) is 1, 2; X is I, Br, Cl] into contact with formic acid in the presence of a metal catalyst [preferably 5% palladium carbon, Raney nickel, tetrakistriphenylphosphine palladium (O), palladium acetate], if necessary, in a solvent such as 2-propanol.
