Title:
PREPARATION OF POLYAMIDE RESIN
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3664577
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To profitably obtain an aimed, high-mol.-wt. polyamide resin in a simple process and for a short time when using a linear polyester resin and reacting it with a diamine compd., by specifying a mole ratio of the diamine compd. to the polyester resin in a specific solvent of a nonproton-based, protophobic polar solvent.
SOLUTION: Reacting 1 mole of a linear polyester resin (e.g. thermoplastic polyalkylene terephthalate resin) consisting of a dicarboxylic acid component and a divalent OH component and having an intrinsic viscosity of 0.2 dl/g or more, with 0.5-1.5 moles of a diamine compd. (e.g. ethylene diamine) in a reaction medium of a polar solvent (e.g. acetonitrile) causes the divalent OH component to be replaced with the diamine compd. The water contents of the each component are made to be as follows: the polyester resin, 1,000 ppm or less; the diamine compd., 1,000 ppm or less; and the reaction medium, 5,000 ppm or less. The polyamidation condition is made to be at 100°C or above and for 0.2-100 hr.
