Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a process for preparing a silazane and a siloxazane suitable for preceramic polymers.
CONSTITUTION: There is provided a process for preparing a silazane and a siloxazane suitable for a preceramic polymer, which process comprises the step of reacting a linear, branched or cyclic starting substance having a structure: -R'2Si-A- in the molecule (wherein A is hydrogen, NR or Si, and the starting substance is an oligomer, a polymer or a copolymer) with hydrogen or a hydrogen donor which is hydrogen or a hydrogen donor in which A is NR, and the starting substance constitutes part of the silazane or with H-X-R which is H-X-R in which A is hydrogen or Si.
