PURPOSE: To obtain the titled stable pharmaceutical of a antigastric ulcer agent having a high activity, by coating and shielding the surface activity of a carrier having the antacidity with a treating agent of a silicone resin, an ester of a fatty acid, etc., and adsorbing the gefarnate in the resultant carrier.
CONSTITUTION: A solid pharmaceutical, containing gefarnate, and obtained by treating a solid carrier, e.g. magnesium metasilicate aluminate or aluminum silicate, having the antacidity with a treating agent of a silicone resin or an ester of a fatty acid, e.g. glycerol, sorbitan and sucrose ester of a higher fatty acid, and adsorbing gefarnate in the resultant treated carrier. The treatment prevents the direct contact of the gefarnate with the carrier, and the hydrolytic action of the gefarnate is suppressed or expelled. The resultant pharmaceutical provides good chemical release characteristics without damaging any antacid power of the carrier.
