PURPOSE: To obtain simply a wood veneer wherein the grain of wood changes thick and thin like a sun tree by a method wherein a coloring agent with a color of the grain of wood is transferred on a veneer for a spring wood with a color of the spring wood and a plurality of this veneer for the spring wood are laminated and molded and this is sliced to form a wood veneer.
CONSTITUTION: A lot of irregularities 6 are randomly provided on a coating roll 5 and a colored adhesive 1 which is very similar to a color of the grain of wood of a material like a sun tree is fed on the coating roll 5 and the surface of a veneer for a spring wood dyed into a color of a spring wood of a material like a sun tree is coated with a colored adhesive 1a by means of the coating roll 5 and the colored adhesive 1a is cured by pressing it through a release sheet. The veneer 2 for a spring wood coated spottedly with the colored adhesive 1a is coated with an adhesive for lamination by means of an ordinary roll coater and a plurality of veneers 2 for a spring wood are laminated and press-molded to form a flitch. When a wood veneer 3 with a straight grain is required, it is pressed by a top mold 8a and a bottom mold 8b of a mold for a straight grain and when a wood veneer 3 for a grain is required, it is pressed by an upper projected mold 9a and a lower recessed mold 9b of a mold for a grain. A veneer 3 is obtd. by slicing the flitch after it is sawed up.
