Title:
PRESSURE INTERRUPTING SENSOR
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3497926
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To quickly respond to the variance of pressure in a battery and be broken even by comparatively small pressure to automatically interrupt the current of an electric circuit by providing a member to be broken which is received in an enclosure and has a conductive path and breaks the conductive path when the pressure caused by an activating member exceeds a predetermined value.
SOLUTION: During charging, in a pressure interrupting sensor 1, current passes a positive electrode cover, a wiring member, a terminal, a lead 5, a terminal, an element 4, a lead 5, a terminal, a wiring member, and a positive electrode, in sequence. If a battery is overcharged by passing current after charging is finished or is charged by larger current than predetermined current, the pressure or the temperature in the battery is increased. If the pressure is increased, it is transmitted to the pressure interrupting sensor 1 as external pressure. If the pressure reaches a given pressure, the element 4 receives the pressure via the projection 6c of an actuator and thus is deformed and pressed into the recess 2e of a lower case and then is broken. A conductive part is broken by the breaking C to break conductivity between outputs, whereby the pressure sensor 1 interrupts current between the positive electrode cover and the positive electrode to stop charging.
