Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pretreatment liquid with which an image having high image density can be formed on a plain paper and generation of color irregularity can be suppressed.SOLUTION: A pretreatment liquid 205 is to be applied to a surface of a recording medium 203 where an aqueous pigment ink is to be ejected, and the pretreatment liquid comprises: water; a water-soluble organic solvent; a water-soluble coagulant; a compound represented by general formula (1) CF-CHCHO(CHCHO)H, where n represents an integer of 1 or more and 40 or less; and a compound represented by general formula (2) HORRC-(CH)-CRROH, where Rand Reach independently represent an alkyl group having 3 or more and 6 or less carbon atoms, Rand Reach independently represent a methyl group or an ethyl group, and m is an integer of 1 or more and 6 or less.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
