PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printed matter allowing authenticity determination, which makes counterfeit difficult, while preventing reproduction of the gradation of a gradation image as it is in the gradation of a latent image.SOLUTION: The printed matter has the following characteristics: a gradation image includes a picture line unit arranged in a matrix without an interval; each picture line unit has at least a first element and a second element; the first element and the second element have areas different from each other without overlapping; a first region of the gradation image is constituted by a first picture line unit formed from an ink that has functionality in the first element and an ink that has no isochromatic functionality with the ink having the functionality under visible reflection light in the second element, and a second picture line unit formed from an ink that does not have the functionality in the first element and an ink that has the functionality in the second element; and a second region of the gradation image is constituted by a third picture line unit formed from an ink that does not have the functionality in the first element and an ink that does not have the functionality in the second element.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 14
