PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer, a conveyance method and a program which can effectively utilize a printing medium.SOLUTION: A printer includes a control unit 2 which cleans a conveyance guide by performing conveyance to the conveyance guide with control of a conveyance mechanism without printing on a printable portion of a printing medium when a printing length in the longitudinal direction of a printing pattern instructed for printing exceeds a printable portion length being the length of a printable portion in the length in the longitudinal direction of the printing medium.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
